Episode Transcript:

Welcome to the everyday intuitive podcast. I’m your host, Heather Alice Shea intuitive life coach trainer status quo, shaker and founder of Atmana Coaching Academy. Listen in each week to break up with your comfort zone claim your self confidence and radically embrace your role as an intuitive healer mentor and sought after coach let’s get within and get after it.

Today. I want to talk about self trust, specifically the lessons that I have learned along my way to hitting 750 K in revenue in the last 11 months. So man has really undergone a metamorphosis. Of change and transformation in the last year. And boy, I’ll tell you what it has been wild to watch it all take off.

And my intention with this podcast is to share. Some of the underbelly of what it’s like to go through something like this on the personal level. So there’s a lot of sharing on the interviews, you know, with our vulnerability posts. Sharing all of the trials and struggles and tribulations that we have been through in life.

I think there’s kind of an emphasis on our failures, our pain, our traumas, you know, the lack, et cetera. And there’s not enough narrative. I think, around the challenges that come with success. The self doubt that comes from success. Inner world your how your inner landscape is challenged and, you know, ultimately if you handle it right, has an opportunity to transform.

And so I wanna just share some of my personal lessons that I have had and hope my hope here is to. Inspire you to understand that, you know, really where the wins are, come from the inside out. And so we’re gonna jump into that in just a second. You know, really just to kind of tee this up for you. So at man, I’ve been coaching, doing life, coach training and business development.

Since 2016, I began my coaching practice in 2014 and coached on a personal level. You know, just one on one clients. And in 2015, I launched my group program 2016. I launched my group program again. And then in 2016, you know, I had a pretty solid clientele built up and people started coming to me. My clients that I’d been working with for years started coming to me, asking me.

To teach them how to become life coaches. And of course my response was, well, I don’t do that because I didn’t do that at that time. It actually had never even crossed my mind that somebody would want me to do that because it was never something that I had offered. So I’ll never forget the first person who asked me her name was Teresa.

And she goes, well, I know you don’t do it, but you do now because I am not going to trust anybody else to do it. And so there you’re gonna teach. And that is how I stepped into life. Coach training. My response to her was, well, I’m not gonna not help you. So yeah. What do you wanna learn? and we sat at my dining room table and literally started sketching out the very beginnings of atmana

so, you know, lucky for me, I’d had a background in psychology and mental health and a, you know, at that point a 15 years career in coaching. So I certainly had to know how to do. But I felt, you know, certainly inadequate, you know, stepping into that space. It wasn’t something that I had ever intended. So from 2016 and on, I worked the personal level to train coaches and then back to graduate school in 2017 to get my master’s degree.

And so in 2019 is really when ATMANA proper took off, you know, clients all over the world, the group program, everything really firing on all cylinder. And since that time, it has just been since the first cohort that we took through and the group model, it has just been nonstop, like, you know, going on three years of just, you know, incredible, incredible growth.

And so here is what I have learned in the last four launches. That I have done. And I will tell you what this fourth launch that we just went through was really, really challenging. It was filled with knots. It was filled with, you know, just some of the stupidest shit that you could ever experience. Like not even like smart problems.

These were like stupid problems. Like. Power went out in my office like five minutes before I was to go live like for two nights in a row. And then here’s what was weird about that. The rest of my house had power. It was just my office that was losing power. The breaker was literally tripping on just my office.

Talk about the energy blowing up. Right. We lost 600 leads due to a technical glitch, right? Cuz we run Facebook ads. So just gone poof, 600 people. Opting in for our archetype quiz. And they like didn’t even get their reports, right? Like that is so awful. I was so upset about it because I feel bad. Right. I wanna deliver on my promise.

I promised you this report and now I can’t deliver it because stupid technology, you know, I use this software called streamy yard to schedule my sessions and our workshop live your purpose launch, your practice stream yard didn’t work. It wouldn’t let me schedule. And then it just stopped working all together.

One of the nights, my camera didn’t work. I literally had. Like log off and log back in. When I had like 65 to 70 people, like just sitting there showing up for day two, wanting me to teach day two of this workshop. And I’m like, oh my God, my camera is not working. Like I’ve never had these types of problems before when I launched, it was just one thing after another, after another, after another.

And so many things went wrong in this last launch. My other three that I’ve done with live your purpose, launch your practice. You know, now that I look back on it, almost like perfectly executed. I feel like the universe really kind of threw me a bone. I had a lot of really good luck, but this time it didn’t, it was really hard.

And I was so frustrated and so tired of it, you know, my knee jerk reaction was just to say, you know, I bust my ass every single day in this business just to have. This kind of stupid stuff happened. Like what is going on? Why is this happening to me? You know, this is happening minutes before I’m supposed to go live right minutes before I’m supposed to deliver this workshop.

And in that moment, it is so hard to pull yourself out of that frustration and that self doubt. It is so, so, so hard to just say, you know what, I’m gonna put on my professional hat and I’m gonna go out there and I’m gonna give it my best. And I wanna highlight that because I think we have this tendency to think, or at least I know that I did that, you know, once.

At half a million. I’m not gonna feel that way anymore, or I’m gonna be able to relax about things or like, no, I still feel that way as a matter, I think maybe I pressure myself a little bit more now that I have, you know, a team of six people and people rely on me to pay their mortgages. You know, they rely on the company to be financially healthy, you know?

So it’s, there’s a lot riding on this. so I just wanna highlight that, that that’s a big lesson I’ve learned is it really never changes. It still is all about like, no matter what level of success you are in your business, it still is just you at the end of the day, responding to the damn thing, right? Like dealing with whatever it is that’s coming up.

And so when this was happening for me, while we were launching all week, I had this. Moment of this like pivotal moment where I was just really about to go there into negative emotion and my two negative emotions that are my defaults is self doubt and frustration. I get really, really frustrated. And then I start to doubt my abilities.

Right. That’s kind of my go to when I’m falling off the cliff of, you know, the glass case of emotion that I’m in, when things aren’t working well. And so I had this split second where I felt myself going there, right? Like I’m about to spiral. And a little voice in my head said, Heather, you get to choose who you want to be in this moment.

You get to choose who you wanna be. What you do right now is who and how you choose to show up. It is not about what is happening in your life right now in this launch. It is everything has to do with what you choose and. I stopped right then. And I said, Heather, who do you wanna be right now? And who I wanted to be in that moment was an undeterred, not derailed.

You know, I put my emotions aside. I put all my personal shit aside and decided that I wanted to be the CEO of my company. Even when things go bad that I wanted to be an aligned, authentic, congruent, passionate service oriented individual, no matter what is happening in this stupid launch. Right. I am here to serve.

That is what I’m here to do. And just because I’m having technological glitches and I’m having all of this stuff happen, it doesn’t matter at right now in this moment, fix the problem, get out there and serve. And so I found a way to get into the Facebook group and I hacked it. And I mean, I was like, no, I am not giving up on this.

I am gonna make this work. I am going to show up with all everything I’ve got. And so I think that that’s a really powerful thing for us all to remember in life, especially in business. You get to choose who you want to be. And with every setback you can say to yourself, how can I not only survive this, but turn this into something that works for me, not against me, that actually sets me up for success, not hinders my success.

So how can I use this as fuel? And that’s what I chose to do. I chose to see. These weaknesses as opportunities for me to shift my strategy to maybe look at like, okay, what are we doing? That’s extra hard. That’s extra burdensome, Heather, what feels heavy right now? What feels like it’s not fun, had all of those mistakes and, you know, Snafus not happened in my launch.

I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to ask myself that question, Heather, what would you like to change? So this is easy, easier on you, and you can do that with yourself, too. What in your life feels heavy? What in your business feels heavy? That is a call to step into greater alignment and ease. And you know, me, I am all about hustle and grind.

I love working. I am an Enneagram eight human design. Manifestor you are never gonna meet somebody who likes the grind more than me. Okay. I love. And you can’t live life from that space all the time. You have to balance it out. You have to harmonize how you show up so you can be consistent. And so as I look at this, you know, my experience from a spiritual perspective in this launch, I think that it was really my soul kind of saying, Heather, this is heavy.

This is hard. You know, you’re doing a 10 day launch here. How could we make this easier? And so I’m really happy that those things happened because it gave me an opportunity on the back end to say, okay, we need to shift some things which ultimately ended up being a massive gift to me. So I wanna share with you right now, some of the other sort of anecdotal lessons that I learned in self trust through this incredible.

Launch. And so, you know, I am so privileged and lucky. We enrolled 14 new coaches into the program. We closed at 1 68, my fourth consecutive six figure launch. I can feel my little inner eight years old. She’s so proud of me, you know, who, who never thought that something like this would be possible. I just feel her inside of me.

Clapping her little hands and cheering me on and seeing this success as, as her win too. And I really believe that I think as we win in our lives, our little inner child is so proud of us and so happy. And so I dedicate this win to that little eight year old in there who needed it so badly when she was little.

And so she gets to feel me today as the woman, she had the privilege of becoming, and I’m proud of us, both for, for doing that. And I’m also insanely proud of my team. I think one of my biggest takeaways from this is you cannot do this alone. So first of all, you cannot do this alone in business. Did you know that you can’t, you have got to have a tribe of people.

That support you in those moments? When I wanted to give up, I had my team, I could lean on them. They never wavered once they never lost momentum. Once they never complained. I never saw an ounce of anything in their eye. They were there. They were all in 110% through every second of that launch. And I am just in awe of their dedication to the service that we provide.

I am humbled by their presence and I will forever be grateful for the people who stand next to me in this work. And I know it’s the same with you and your business as well. Whether it’s a friend, it’s a family member or just the people in your life that support, you see their sign of trust, their, you know, their belief in you as evidence that you are worthy of trust, you are worthy of success.

You are worthy of these. It’s so true. And when I doubt myself, I lean on my team and I’m, I’m just beyond grateful for them. So another big lesson that I learned in this is that obstacles really give us a chance to test our mental and emotional metal. And so when things go wrong, see that as an opportunity to see what you’re made of, you know, it’s kind of like the litmus test, right?

You have that gut check moment of wait a minute. Who do I wanna be in this moment? Who do I. Want to become who do I wanna show the world that I am right. Manifesting right now in this moment. Another thing I’ve learned out of this is once you find alignment, things really do take off. So no matter where you are in your business right now, please be patient be patient because, oh my goodness.

When it comes, it comes and it comes like a tidal wave and you. Stop it, you couldn’t stop it, you know, even on your bad launches. Right? My last two launches yielded more financial profits than this one did. But I think that this launch that I just had yielded bigger, emotional and spiritual and mental gains, and I’m so grateful for that.

Right. So once it starts, it starts. And even when you’re not, you know, knocking it out of the park, you’re still knocking it out of the. Another thing I’ll say is launches are like snowflakes. Every one of them is different. So never judge your launch. Just go into it, give it all. You’ve got, let it be what it.

It’s a little snowflake. It’s its own unique individual thing. Never judge the launch and know that your next one is gonna be completely different too. So just keep trying. Here’s a really good one. It’s not that you’ve bitten off more than you can chew. If you ever feel overwhelmed by anything you’re doing on your business.

It’s not that you’ve bitten off more than you can chew. It’s that you’re learning to eat bigger bites. I kept telling myself that through this whole launch, you haven’t bitten off more than you can chew. You’re just learning to eat bigger bites. So in other words, you’re capable of far more than you think you are.

And then no matter what have the attitude that just giving up is not an option because this isn’t about you. You can’t really let yourself indulge in self doubt because you have a purpose to serve, right? There are people who are counting on you, and that really helped pull me out of my stupid self doubt and frustration funk as I was moving through it in the hard moments.

You have an opportunity to choose who you wanna be. So choose wisely and above all else, trust your intuition because there is no way that your brain is smart enough or fast enough to make all of decisions that you need to make to get you to where you are destined to go. So I lean on my intuition every day, but you know, this one was really.

Important for me to just sit back and go, okay, what are we doing in this moment right now? Like, I didn’t have the time to doubt myself or just second guess, or to like come up with a 50,000 options or map out a plan. It was like, no, right now go, what are we doing to fix this . And so I really leaned on my intuition in this launch, and I think what it has done is really solidified.

My willingness to, I think, do it even more right. To like less on strategy, more on like, okay, where is spirit guiding me to go in this moment with this launch? And then a practical step here for you as you step into your next launch or opening up your business, or however it is, you’re getting out there to serve your clients.

Is. You need to know your numbers. You’ve gotta have concrete goals. If you are ever going to accomplish things, right. You need to know, okay. Did I hit it? Did I not hit it? We had an enrollment goal. I think of, I can’t remember how many people we said we wanted this time. I think we said we wanted 20 and we got 14, you know, and we didn’t hit the goal proper, but.

Also I realized that we actually did, right. The purpose of this launch was so much more different than we were thinking it was right. But even so I’m glad that I had some type of number, right. I’m glad that I had some type of financial projection, some type of, you know, I wanna serve a thousand people in this workshop.

Having numbers does help you really move the needle on the success that you want to hit. And of course, that’s always married with, you know, the service that we provide when we step up and teach. And then also just see absolutely everything that you are doing right now in your business as an opportunity.

It really all is an opportunity if you choose to learn instead of being discouraged. So I think my biggest takeaway from this experience and it’s really. You know, it’s my lessons on the way to 750 K, but I also think it’s just, as I look at, you know, the whole course of the life, that is my role as a healer and my role as an intuitive and my role as a coach in the world.

My biggest takeaway from this is just refuse to quit, refused to quit. It’s hard because it’s hard. It’s challenging because it’s challenging. It’s difficult because it’s difficult. You know, you’re sad because it’s sad. You’re frustrated because it’s frustrating. , it’s not easy being an entrepreneur. It’s not easy being an intuitive.

These things are not easy. Right. So I just wanna normalize those experiences. I wish I would’ve learned that earlier in my career. I internalized so much when something went wrong, I would think, oh my God, what am I doing that this isn’t right. Why am I not able to get this, you know, thing down right now?

As I look back on it, I realize just shit happens. It happens because it’s complicated things go wrong because there’s a lot of variables involved in being an intuitive and being a coach and running a, your own business. Right. So refuse to quit, know that it’s hard because it’s hard and commit to learning from and taking action on every single solitary experience that you have.

Every moment is an opportunity to learn. And if you will do. There is no way you can fail. My dad used to say, Heather, even when I’m wrong. I’m right. And when I was a kid, I didn’t know what that meant. And I finally grew up and I was like, daddy, what the hell do you mean? I think when you’re wrong, you’re wrong.

I don’t think you’re right when you’re wrong. I think you’re wrong when you’re wrong. And he said, even when I’m wrong, I’m right. If I’m daring greatly in doing what I believe to be true for myself. So in other words, the goal is you cannot lose if you are endeavoring greatly in your purpose, because the win is that you tried to begin with.

So the only way you can fail is if you give up and you don’t continually bet on yourself. So as I walk out of this launch, I think to myself, well, you know what, even if we didn’t. One person I would still have considered this last launch and really all of the launches that have gotten us here, a win because it’s given me a chance to see myself more clearly.

It’s given me a chance to test my metal. It’s given my team a chance to grow in ways they never thought possible. It’s given us an opportunity to go deeper into service. Even when we thought that there would probably be zero financial ROI to show for it. We didn’t care. Not one bit. We showed up and we gave it everything.

And I’m so proud of that. Right. And now I know that about myself and my team. That we are in this for purpose first profit next. And I promise you this, if you do this, you’re gonna come out of the other side of whatever it is. That’s challenging you and your business. You’re gonna have more grace than grit than ever.

No matter if it’s, you’re trying to make your first. Thousand dollars in your business, or if you’re trying to hit your first 10 figures or, or if your first 10,000 or 10 figures, that would be great. What is 10 figures? That’s like a lot of money. Oh my God. That’s a crazy amount. you know, so no matter what the goal is, right.

Just. Know that the process is still the same. The process is still the same. It’s still, how can I show up and serve? How can I continually learn? How do I be deeply with myself in those moments of failure and victory? So there are challenges that come with success and. They feel a lot, like probably what you’re in now.

So if you’re doubting whether or not you quote unquote, have what it takes to make it to run, you know, a half a million, a 750,000, you know, we’re gonna hit definitely by the end of Q. One of next year will be a million dollar business. You know, whether it’s that a million dollar business or beyond, it really is just you with you.

You know, it really is. So you have got this, you can do this. Trust yourself, lean on your intuition, make the best decisions you can in the moment. Know that no matter what happens from there, you are going to learn and you are going to pivot. You are gonna take. Doesn’t work and throw it out and you’re gonna keep what does, and you are going to keep ascending to the Heights.

That is the destiny that you are here to live being yourself. So I hope that this helps you go deeper into your own purpose in your coaching practice. And. I’ll see you later till next time together, we rise. That is a wrap for today’s show.
