So I was scrolling through Instagram reels the other day, and a lady sent me a DM asking me if I had ever had an intuitive reading before to which I was like, haw. Okay. I have had. So many readings before. And as a matter of fact, there was a long period of time in my professional career where I did, you know, 20 or 30 a week myself as an intuitive coach.
And then she proceeded to pitch to me her sessions now, When I say she pitched to me all of her coaching services. I actually really admire that I don’t have any kind of yucky or icky feeling when people pitch to me. I actually think it is such an awesome. Move for her. It shows that she is putting herself out there, that she is believing in her ability to present her work in the world in a way that other people are going to be able to receive it.
So hats off to her. But the reason why I’m telling this story is I want to talk about. Raising your rates. So you can be taken seriously as a professional intuitive coach. So the story I’m telling right now is emblematic of why it is very important for you to raise your rates. If you wanna be taken seriously, this girl was doing the most in her coaching business.
I could tell that she was serious about marketing. She had a passion and. For the healing work she was doing, I could just really tell it meant a lot to her, which is so cool. And I believe the world needs more of that. But guess what? Her rates were, her rates were $20 for like a 20 minute reading or something.
I can’t think it was like 20 bucks for a 20 minute reading. And then get this. Can you imagine it was half off? So it was 10 bucks for a 20 minute reading. I loved absolutely everything about what this girl was presenting and laying down. And I’m just saying this girl, cuz I wanna keep her name anonymous, but I loved everything about it, except for when it came to the rate.
And when I saw her rate, I thought to myself, this can’t be worth anything. Like it’s probably not gonna be that helpful $20 really. And what are we gonna accomplish in 20 minutes? You know, is this like some flash in the pan session? I wanna, you know, really dive deep and do serious work with every person that I hire in my life.
And I don’t want to do flash in the pan sessions and not commit fully to the practice of. Working with someone to help me better my life. So I think that this story is very powerful because it shows a material point that you, and how you show up in the world. And what you, the rate you put on your services says a lot about what you think it is worth.
That’s what your rates are really revealing. Your rates are not about what your services are, are worth. It’s not about your worth. It’s not about any of that. It’s about what you think. it’s worth. And so when I saw that $20 price tag, I thought, well, this person doesn’t even value their services. Like, why should I, why should I, so I offer that to you today as a window into why it is so important for us to truly value and honor the space that we hold as intuitive.
Practitioners because you do have something incredibly powerful. It isn’t that I didn’t realize that that young woman had something to offer. I believe that she did. And I think there’s a part of her that believes it too. But when it came to the rate, that’s where the rubber meets the road and it showed me that deep, deep, deep, deep down, this person is not an energetic match for me, who I don’t even allow.
I don’t even do private sessions anymore. Like you literally can’t hire me for. Because all of my work is focused on, you know, training our intuitive coaches inside of our program. Right. Which is, you know, a pretty high ticket certification program. And so think about that for a minute. What are you communicating to your clients via how much you’re charging?
What you’re communicating is what you think the transformational effect it’s going to have. This person believes that 20 bucks is about the amount of transformation I’m gonna. That’s not even worth me spending 15 minutes to talk about. Right. So it’s the same with us. It’s the same with us. It’s the same with how we put it out there.
Now I just did an episode about. You know, untethering your personal worth as a human being from your work, from your offers in your coaching practice, that’s episode 71. I want you to go listen to that and that will really shine some light as the episode, you know, right before this one that will shine some light on why and how.
We begin to disidentify with the money that we’re making in our businesses and the rates that we are charging. It has nothing to do with your personal value, but it does have to do with the value of what you’re offering via the coaching engagement with your client. In other words, that product, your coaching program as a product, it does say something about what you think it’s worth, and that is everything.
So I’m gonna give you another analogy here that will kind of help you look at how to think about pricing, your coaching programs. A candle is a candle is a candle. Isn’t it. You can buy a candle at the dollar store. You can buy a candle at pottery barn and you can buy a candle at, you know, Nordstroms, right?
You can get a candle from any one of these stores and you know what? That candle is more or less gonna do what candles do you’re gonna light it. and it’s more or less going to give off some light, maybe some heat, maybe some fragrance. All right. A candle as a candle, as a candle, but wouldn’t you rather have a candle from Nordstrom or pottery barn than the dollar store.
Doesn’t that sound far more enticing, engaging. Don’t you have a natural sense of knowing that that Nordstrom candle is going to be far more valuable luxurious. It’s probably gonna burn better. It’s probably gonna smell better. Right? And it’s the same with our coaching practices. It’s the same with your offer.
You can price it at the dollar store rate. You can price it at the pottery barn rate and you can price it at the Nordstrom rate. It really just depends on the level that you want to show up in the world, but know this, you can do all three. It’s simply a matter of a choice now for me, I choose to be an Nordstrom candle because I believe that’s my potential.
My rates reflect that. And I believe the value of the work that I’m bringing forward in concert with so many people, right. I’m not doing it alone. Of course it reflects that. And because I believe that and because I wake up every day and do that, that is received in the world. And it’s the same with you.
Okay. So I want you to know and embrace the idea that it really just is a choice that you make. It’s something that you decide. It’s not something that’s there. And you know, you’re waiting for permission for someone to tell you that it’s okay to charge 250 $300, $400, 500, however much you wanna. I know people who charge $50,000 for six months worth of coaching on the personal development side, they do intuitive development, personal coaching.
They’re not even business coaches and they start at $50,000 and you know what? They enroll people all day long because they believe they believe in the value of what they are bringing forward. They’re not identified with it. They have a healthy relationship with what they’re bringing forward. So that’s available to you too.
It’s a simple choice. Okay. It’s a simple choice. So I want you to ask yourself, how are you holding yourself back if you’re sitting back and you’re like, gosh, I really would deep down secretly. I would love to raise my rates, but how do I do it? If that is where you are at, I want you to know you’re not alone and how you do it is you give yourself permission.
to step into that and you give yourself permission to declare what you think it is worth. And then you radically believe that, but there’s no person on earth who can validate that for you or give you permission to raise it. Even if they did in a day or two or a couple of weeks, you’d be right back down to the self doubt of it all.
Okay. So you can absolutely receive. The rates and the reward. for all that you are endeavoring to bring forward. If you choose it. And I’m gonna give you a little formula right now, that’s gonna help you do it. Okay. How we scale our businesses, how you can scale a practice. And I go through this on day five of the live, your purpose launch, or practice workshop.

We’ll leave a link in the show notes, but on day five, I give you that roadmap and I’m gonna give it to you really, really quick here, cuz you know, I go through a lot. It’s kind of complicated, but I’m gonna get the gist of it. How you do it is you set a rate.
Let’s say it’s a hundred bucks an hour. Let’s say that you want to double that rate by the end of the. Every quarter, every three months you raise your rate by 25%. You tell everyone you put it on your website and you tell everyone, first quarter, my rate is gonna be 1 25, then it’s gonna be, you know, it’s a hundred, then it’s the next quarter?
It’s 1 25, the next quarter. It’s one 50, the next quarter. It’s 1 75. The next, then it’s 200. By the end of the year, you get the gist, right? You raise it every three months by 20%. Now, if you wanna be ambitious, go for it, do it by 50. It doesn’t have to be 25, but I’m giving you a method by which you can raise your rates, do it in integrity and let everybody know ahead of time that you’re doing it.
I did this in my own practice. It worked like a charm. I three X my rates in a year. It was fantastic. You’re gonna have it out there. You’re gonna tell everybody you’re gonna say, Hey, here’s my rate for the first quarter. Here’s my rate for the second quarter. Here’s my rate for the third. Here’s the rate for my fourth.
Now, if you wanna buy right now, if we’re in Q1, if you want to enroll or buy as many, you know, a block of sessions at this rate, awesome. It works for you because you get a chunk of cash. It works for them because they get sessions that are lower rate voila. You are off to the races, but you tell every client that you have once Q2 hits and you’re outta sessions, you’re paying that new.
every client that you have, or every potential client that you have will be more than happy to support you in this. Okay. So that is how you raise your rates in integrity, letting everybody know, getting an influx of cash when people buy a little bundle of sessions because they want a good deal and people will take you seriously, not only as a business woman, but as a well qualified.
Professional coach. Okay. This isn’t about sitting in the back room, doing TA card readings for the rest of your life. Not that for 20 bucks. There’s not that there’s anything wrong with it. If that’s what you wanna do, do it. But I am here speaking to you because I believe that, you know, deep down you are called for something more.
Okay. Coaching is the future. coaching is the future. It fills the gap between the people who need help in their life and then mental health services, which are crumbling falling apart in this world. Now coaching isn’t therapy. But the point is there are many, many, many people who could use some coaching who could use some help.
That definitely aren’t going to a therapist because they don’t need one. And so they’re sitting there going well, you know, where do I get help? That’s coaching. That’s 80% of the American population. okay. They fall into that category. There’s way more people in this world that need coaching than they do therapy.
So that’s the gap filler. Okay. There’s this massive gap. And that’s where you come in. That is where you come in. So if you so choose, you can be taken seriously, but you’ve gotta raise your rates because there are people out there who would love to work with you, but aren’t because they don’t want dollar store transformation.
Okay. They want pottery barn or, you know, Nordstrom, sax, fifth. That’s what they want. That is what they want. And they are out there waiting for you to own it. And to show up in that space to be the professional that you were born to be, and to shepherd. Them into Ascension and a higher path forward at the end of the day, what your job as an intuitive coach is, is just to help people become their higher self.
Okay. So my wish for you, my hope for you is that you do this in earnest full time, allowing yourself to receive. Everything that your purpose in the world is waiting for you to claim.
